City of Phoenix, University Park Christmas event
Yesterday at University Park on Van Buren and 11th Avenue, Christy Puetz and I experienced the ongoing Kiwanis Foundation community impact which assists and serves children of this vulnerable Central Phoenix city area through grants, scholarship programs and Kiwanis youth programs. Over 400 family members experienced the Holiday Joy of United Families celebrating GIVING and GRATITUDE for all they have. The day was exposure to the TRUE MEANING OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON and to witness the joy of children who value the simple and treasured moments of being together in compassion and love...
Christy and I provided a beaded bracelet making table that invited over 100 attending individuals of all ages to create a symbolic bracelet and write a message of love to give to someone they cherished. Cards to Veterans were also made and taken to the VA hospital...
Santa came in style in his contemporary sleigh across the park grounds...
The children had been awaiting his arrival for an hour and were aglow with excitement!
Photos with Santa were as a Family!!!!
Food for all was served by volunteers and paid for by the Kiwanis...
An program like this relies on many community volunteers to produce a successful event!
The old cars show was lots of enjoyment for all generations. A time to be together and have FUN!
The adjoining Museum building includes open space for indoor play and exercise programs. Amenities in the adjoining park amenities includes the new Justin Upton Youth Baseball Field, a playground, three ramadas with grills, swimming pool, sand volleyball court and a full court and half court lit basketball area.
Ladina Arenivaz (email@example.com) is the director at this site and invited the CAC and other participants to come bring a celebration of winter holiday activities fulfilling a human development need for creative play and uniting families to build healthy communities...
